ZONE RESULTS are available on the Results Page - GREAT EFFORT from all the kids over the whole weekend with new records, plenty of medals for our U7's and a whole stack of new PB's. 26 kids registered with 100% attendance - all either medalling (U7's) or through to Region, including our two Junior Relay teams (and thanks very much to the Kirk family for returning today for the relays when their events were already completed yesterday - great team spirit!!) Thanks also to all the parents & grandparents who came & supported & helped out over the weekend - special thanks to Robyn & Georgia Addie who gave up their whole weekend to officiate and to our two brilliant team managers, Katrina & Michelle, who ensured that all the kids got to their events OK!!

CLUB CHAMPS (2), scheduled for tonight, has had to be postponed as Coucil have been working on the Oval and have dumped 60 tonne of top soil on it mid week. Despite the best efforts of Barry & Anne, the surface is not good enough to run our Club Champs on this week and it has been decided to postpone it to next week. Little A's will still run tonight (4 November) with a modified program and some changes to some events. See you there!! Don't forget the Raffle will also be drawn tonight.

GALA DAYS - Those young Gills were out and about again last weekend - this time at Mid West Zone Multi at Greystanes Little A's home ground Gipps Oval. For a change, it was a nice hot day and the kids did really well with Ashleigh coming in 9th overall in the U8G's and a great new PB in her 70m, whilst Cameron was rapt with big new PBs in both his Discus & Long Jump and 1st overall, together with a new U9B's pointscore record for the carnival - Fantastic effort guys. Where will the "Leyland" Gill Family be off to this weekend? Try Liverpool Gala Day where Chloe gets to play as well this weekend and they'll be joined by Ben Tipper-Lawrence, also in the 9B's. Look out Liverpool - Warradale's coming for your medals!!! Good Luck to all the kids - hope you have a great time - keep a look out for Jake - he'll be down there presenting some medals :)

CLUB CHAMPS - Well the rain finally stopped for a few days and we got off to a flier with our first Club Chmps Night last week. There were some great performances and tons of PB's being smashed all over the oval. The tots had a fantastic time with their sprints on the "big track" and everyone seemed to have a good night, happy to see some decent weather at last! A couple of standout performances were achieved on the night by firstly Cameron Gill (U9s), where he had a fantastic run to take out the 800m Club Champs event and beat Warradale legend, Scott McCarthy's record (2003) by 4/100ths of a second! To say Cam was stoked was an understatement and it was great to see Scott there on the night, happy, as always, to congratulate Cam on his great performance. It must have been the night for the 9's age group as Mia Gleeson took out the 15 year high jump record, previously held by Karynne Corbett (1996) & Claire Turunen (2000). In only her second high jump competition ever, Mia bettered her former PB of 95cm by 12cm to soar to 1.07 m, having cleared every height from 70cm to 1.00 m on her first attempt. She then took 2 attempts at 1.00 m and three at the record of 1.07m and was rightly very proud of her efforts!! A special mention must also go to former Warradale members - Robyn Addie, Georgia Addie, Jake Stein & Scott McCarthy, along with current member, Rhys Stein who all attended the night to help out with officiating on the Champ events. Thanks very much guys - your help is always very much appreciated!!! WELL DONE TO ALL ON THE NIGHT!!! (updated records on the Records Page)
UPCOMING GALA DAYS - Nepean Little A's Warren Mossman Carnival is on 13 November 2011 at St Marys - this is traditionally a big day for all our Warradale athletes and we are hoping to get our usual gang to go along - we already have a few families registered for the event - if you are interested please see Sam for this carnival as we put in a big group entry. Entries must be to Sam by end of competition this Friday night, 28 October. Other gala days coming up include - Werrington - 6 November, Campbelltown - 12 November (more info & flyers are available on the Flyers/Info Page of the website and also in the Clubhouse at the Oval
Warradale Club Polo Shirts are now available for sale - check them out at the canteen - Prices are - $25 for kids and $30 for adults. Last orders for this season will be taken until next Friday, 4 November, with a 2-3 week delivery date. These shirts are great sun protection for the kids at gala days, association carnivals, etc

LAKE ILLAWARRA OCTOBER CARNIVAL had some Warradale visitors on Sunday in the form of the Gill family who braved the weekend weather to bring home a bagful of medals and a heap of new PB's!!! Cameron won the 60mh, 100m & 200m and came in 2nd in both the 400m (PB) & 800m, whilst Ashleigh had a great day, picking up Bronze in the Discus with a big new PB and just missed a medal in the Shot. Not to be outdone, our youngest Gill, Chloe enjoyed her first ever gala day, picking up Silver in the Discus and Bronze in the 70m and Shot and had a great new PB in the Long Jump where she came in 5th. Congratulations to all the kids on a fantastic effort!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO RHYS who has been named in the U15's LAANSW State Team to contest the Multi Event at the ALA National Championships at Homebush on 30 April. Rhys was selected based on his results from this year's State Multi where he took the Gold in the U15 Boys. All our athletes had a great weekend at Multi with Jake taking the Gold in the U17 Boys, Cameron was 4th in the U8 Boys with some fantastic performances and a really gutsy run in the 700m at the end of a long weekend. In the U17 Girls Georgia had a great weekend with some new PB's and came in 7th whilst Ashleigh really enjoyed her weekend, smashing all her running PB's to come in 21st in the U7 Girls.
STATE CHAMPS - we had 8 athletes competing at the recent State Track & Field Championships at Homebush with some great results over the weekend despite the atrocious weather. More details available soon.

SEE USAIN BOLT IN SYDNEY - Wednesday, 15 September at Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush Athletic Allstars (presented by Competetive Edge) is an athletics competition with a difference - Usain Bolt is the special guest athlete and together with Shane Warne, he will be joined by many of Australia's top athletes from a variety of sports. The very first ever Youth Olympic Games (17 & Under) will be held in Singapore this year, with the Athletics being held from 17 August through to 23 August - Click HERE for Event Schedule (these are Singapore times - they are 2 hours behind Sydney). There are 5 NSW current & former Little Athletes competing at the Games (Elliott - Javelin, Nick - 110mh, Jenny - 1000m, Michelle - 100mh, Kurt - Long Jump & Brandon - High Jump). On the television you can keep up to date with all the action on the GO Channel (Foxtel & Digital) and the Youth Olympic Games Channel (Foxtel) 24 hours a day.
CONGRATULATIONS to Kristina Srzich who has been selected to perform in the Imperial Russian Ballet Company’s production of the Nutcracker in October at the State Theatre. What a really fantastic opportunity and very well done Kristina.
HELP NEEDED URGENTLY PLEASE - With the new discus cages & long jumps we still have a lot of work to do before the season starts and unfortunately with having to put things back, either waiting for weather or whatever, we have very little time left before the season to get things ready for the kids. Therefore, we are having two working bees - one this Saturday - 7 August & one on Saturday, 21 August. Obviously we pretty much all still have kids competing in soccer/football/netball but whether you can spare an hour, two or three - please don't think it's too little - we would really, really appreciate any and all help you can offer. Kids are more than welcome and will be fed as well.....
This Saturday - 7 August - we need some help please to put up the wire mesh & finish off the discus cages - hopefully this will only take a few hours as most of the hard work has been done the other week. Dave & Barry will be up at the oval from 7am on Saturday and if anyone is available to help, we will need helpers from 7-7.30 am onwards for a few hours (whatever you can spare - as I said before, please don't feel like you can't just come at 7 and stay for an hour or come at 8 or 9 and help out then - we will very much appreciate whatever time you can spare, thanks). Breakfast will be provided from 7.30 am / 8 am onwards.
Saturday - 21 August - this day is to try and really get the long jump pits sorted out and again, I'm sure Barry will be up there again from about 7am but any time you can come will be fantastic - hopefully we could get the majority of people available to come up from about 7.30 / 8 am. Again, breakfast will be provided from about 8 am.
Apart from the working bees, we also need helpers to come along to the Luddenham Public School 150 years Celebration on Sunday, 15 August where we will be running the BBQ. This season this event will be our major fundraiser as we cannot do the Luddenham Show as we have in previous years as it unfortunately clashes with Region Champs next year, so we are hoping to have a really good big day at Luddenham School and get the season off to a good start. This is a later start as we can't start cooking until after the opening ceremony (bout 11am) but we will be setting up from about 9.30 / 10am and will probably go through until about 4-5 pm so anyone who can help out for an hour or two (or longer, if you like :) ) through the day, please let us know and come along and help. (Breakfast/Lunch provided). We are really down on our normal helpers on this particular weekend so please try and come along.
As said earlier, any help on any of the above weekends will be much appreciated and we really DO NEED YOUR HELP. The above days will probably be the only days other than Zone Championships, etc where we will be needing to do these kind of jobs, etc so please try and make some time to come along. PLEASE NOTE: Please reply to Sam by email (samnboys@iprimus.com.au) if you can help on any of these weekends so I can try and coordinate everyone and get an idea of where we're at. Also, please tell any club members you know - the more we have, the merrier and the earlier we finish!!!! :)
WE WON THE IGA DOCKET COMPETITION AGAIN!!!! For the 2nd year in a row Warradale have come in 1st in our Division in this great competition. The winners were announced at this season's Conference (held last weekend) and Anne & Barry were all smiles as they were presented with a cheque for $3,500 for the Centre. Well done to everyone who participated in this fundraiser and harrassed family & friends into helping out - Particular thanks go to Helen Perigo for all her hard work and to Anne & Barry for coordinating this year's effort and never giving up on it!!!!
FEES FOR SEASON 2010 / 2011 - This season's fees have been set and will remain the same as last season - U6-U17 - $90 each / Tiny Tots - $65 each / Dual Registrations (with ANSW) - U13-U17 athletes only - $25. In addition to this we have introduced a new Large Family Discount for families with 3 or more children - First two children are charged at full price (as above) and third & subsequent children will be $50 each. There is also a $20 Fundraising Levy PER FAMILY (not per child). Each family receives a $20 book of raffle tickets and it is your choice whether to sell them to others and recoup the money or enter them in the raffle under your own name. GaelNelson is our new Fundraising Officer and she has already been busy organising prizes for the raffle. First prize will be a gas heater, kindly donated by Supagas and valued at $379!!
CONGRATULATIONS to Sam McKechnie from our U10 Girls - Sam recently attended an Anne Sargeant - 2 day netball clinic where she had to participate in skills/drills/games etc with over 100 other girls. At the end of the clinic all the girls receive a Cetificate and Anne awards one girl a scholarship to attend her clinic for a week. Sam was awarded this scholarship and will spend a week in January 2011 at Anne's clinic in Curl Curl.

REGION CHAMPS was a great weekend with all our Warradale athletes pulling out some great performances and a ton of PB's, as always. We have six athletes progressing to State this year - Jake (17s - 100h, LJ, TJ, Discus, Shot & Jav), Steven (15s - 1500m), Rhys (14s - 90h, 200h & Jav), Chris (14s - HJ), Sam (12s - Discus) & Luke (10s - Shot). In the 8's Rhys had a very good weekend coming away with 3 Golds for the 70m & 100m & Long Jump. WELL DONE to all our athletes who competed at Zone this weekend. Once again it was a very successful couple of days for the Club with outstanding performances from all our competitors and of course their very supportive parents. We picked up a swag of medals with some great performances from our U7's and also have all four relay teams thru to Region. CHRISTMAS PARTY this Friday Nite - 18 December. All age groups will still have 2 or 3 events so wear your athletics uniform but dress it up for Christmas. Santa will join the party once the athletics competition is finished. All Warradale athletes are invited to participate in this fun night and Santa will have showbags for everyone!!

CONGRATULATIONS to all our athletes who competed at the Zone Multi last weekend - we picked up plenty of medals & trophies and quite a few new records as well. CENTRAL WEST MET ZONE MULTI CHAMPIONSHIPS (Twilight Competition) are on this weekend at Western Blue's ground at Austral. All Little Athletes U6-U17's from all Little A's Clubs are invited to attend and especially OUR WARRADALE Little Athletes. Entry forms can be found HERE and emailed in or you can still fill in an entry at Training on Wednesday afternoon (From 4.30 at the Oval) or on Friday Night. There is also late entry on the day from 1.00 pm. Come along and join us in a FUN SUNNY DAY.

ZONE MULTI - Our Zone Multi is on Saturday, 17 October at Western Blues ground at Austral (Hoxton Park). This competition is open to all Little Athletics members from U6 to U17's. Members of clubs outside of CWMZ are also encouraged and invited to attend. Entry forms can be found on our Flyers/Info Page
TRAINING - ALL TRAINING NOW STARTS AT 4.30 pm on Mondays & Wednesdays. On Monday there will be High Jump training, together with other field events, followed by Sprints Training immediately after at 5.15 pm/5.30 pm. On Wednesdays there will be Throws or Jumps training at 4.30 followed by Sprints Training at 5.15 pm/5.30 pm.
OUR NEW SEASON STARTS next Friday, 11 September 2009 from 6.00 pm at Warragamba Oval. Registrations
will still be taken on this night and uniform sales / pick ups will be available from 5.30 pm.
REGISTRATION is on this Friday, 28 August at the Clubhouse at the Oval from 5.30 pm to 7.00 pm.

Once on the LAANSW site, click the "Register Here" link (left hand side of page) and follow the prompts. If you prefer to register in person at our Registration Days, these will be held on Friday 21 & 28 August at the Clubhouse at the Oval.
SPRINT & FIELD TRAINING is back on. Thurdsday afternoon at the Oval from 2.30 pm during school holidays. After the holidays we will be on at 5.45 pm on Wednesday nights at the Oval. See Sam for any more info.
